01/10/2026Product Apex JackalBy Matt FortneyFrom Hudsonville, MIAbout Me Pro Shop OperatorRepeated Surprises
I drilled my Apex 70* x 4 x 40*, uncertain what to expect. I have never matched up well with the Jackal series, but the core with a higher Rg intrigued me enough to give this one a try. Historically I have been a fan of Motiv’s dual density cores.
When I say repeated surprises, what I mean is it wasn’t one aspect of this ball’s motion that surprised me. It was several. While I didn’t have much expectation on overall strength, that was the first surprise. While not the strongest overall motion I have seen, it was definitely more than I anticipated. I was comfortably swinging the ball immediately, something I have struggled to do with anything in my house all year. The next surprise came when missing wide. Unlike my Jackal’s of the past, the Apex provided PLENTY of recovery to get back to the pocket AND carry. I was also pleasantly surprised by the hold the Apex provided when I pulled a shot. Not only did it stay right and hit the pocket, but carried very well (even when I felt like I deserved a corner pin).
As a bonus, the colors Motiv chose makes the Apex look really good going down the lane. I would recommend this ball for anyone looking for a medium/high strength asymmetric ball that hits/carries well and offers plenty of forgiveness. I will be throwing this ball a lot.I would recommend this to a friend

Apex was consistently reading the mid lane and strong finish on backend. Currently I have a Crimson and Apex in my arsenal and eagerly waiting to see what else Motiv develops in the Jackal lineup.

I’ve been bowling 99 percent just Motiv stuff since 2016. I’ve never owned a jJckal ball before and I said it’s about time I get one. I went to my pro shop and they had one and the first game out of the box was 300. This ball hits like a machine! I can’t believe I waited this long to buy a Jackal!

01/04/2026Product Apex JackalBy Stephen HaasFrom Enola, PAAbout Me Motiv StafferApex Jackal - Higher RG Predator Core
The Apex Jackal is here, and this one takes the Jackal line to another level for sure! Motiv’s new Apex Predator core with the Power Band dual-density technology along with the Propulsion MXV Pearl cover creates a motion that’s both clean and explosive down lane—especially on heavier oil. This really is a heavy oil angular ball that performs as advertised and one you will want in your bag!

01/02/2026Product Apex JackalBy Anthony EvansFrom Pittsburgh, PAAbout Me MOTIV StaffThe Best Pearl Jackal we've made
Taking a core as legendary as the Predator V2 core and modifying it is no small task, so when they announced the Apex Jackal, I was extremely curious of what we would see out of it. The Apex Jackal is my favorite and what I would like to say is the best pearl cover Jackal we have ever produced. Using the same cover from the Evoke Hysteria and Steel Forge, combined with the new POWERBAND technology has created the most stable, yet dynamic pearl Jackal and pearl asymmetric ball Motiv has ever produced. The cover keeps the ball online in oil the exact way you need it too for heavier oil conditions while the core still allows it to retain energy for that great booming motion bowlers expect from an asymmetric pearl. I laid mine out 70x5.5x45 to give me a great complement to my Onyx Jackal when the fronts go but there's still volume to dig through or when it's just too slow, but I need more motion than the Hysteria and Steel can give me. It is exactly what I needed and what bowlers need in the asymmetric pearl spot in their arsenal.
