08/01/2025Product Jackal OnyxBy James de la CruzFrom Phoenix,AZAbout Me Lefty bowler, multiple leagues at different centers and tournament bowler. Not your typical big asym
You get the traction and early read like the Legacy and Ambush, but it continues so much more down lane. This ball can cover more boards than the Legacy, it definitely needs oil though. This ball may not be a good fit on all house shots, but if you're speed dominant or play on any heavier volume pattern, you need this ball.

Admittedly, I have way too many bowling balls, they are all MOTIV though. This Onyx or as I call it BIG DOG is a BEAST. My teammate bought one recently as well and we both agree it might be the best ball we have thrown on fresh oil, its almost like cheating, not to mention how good it looks.

07/17/2025Product Jackal OnyxBy James de la CruzFrom Phoenix,AZAbout Me Lefty bowler, multiple leagues at different centers and tournament bowler.Perfect replacement for the Jackal Legacy
I just got this ball to replace my #16 Jackal Legacy. To me the Onyx seems just as strong as the Legacy, but definitely has more motion down lane. The Duramax additive definitely makes a difference with the surface finish longevity. The Jackal Legacy was a good ball, but it did lane shine quicker than I wanted it to. The Onyx definitely needs some volume. It's definitely for the heavier volume or lower ratio house shots. If the volume is there, this piece will not let you down. It's definitely a great combo with the Jackal Ghost and Crimson Jackal.

I LOVE the Jackel Onyx. Eats heavy oil and hits like a truck. Makes it easy to get lined up.

07/02/2025Product Jackal OnyxBy Brian CurinFrom Lincoln, NEAbout Me League BowlerTournament Ready
I got an Onyx just for going to nationals this year and it's everything it is supposed to be and more. When I threw good, it did good, when I threw bad, it made it work anyway. It is the first time at nationals I had a ball that let me mess up and still got to the pocket.
It is easier to control by speed rather than line.
I still haven't cleaned it, outside of tournaments it needs all the oil you can keep on it.
It rolls the same after 100 games as when I pulled it out of the box.
