The Raptor Pursuit was built to soar where other high-performance MOTIV balls could not.  When you build a ball for the top of the MOTIV Ball Guide, you usually need the cover to be strong enough to create traction in heavier volumes of oil. But there’s a tradeoff. Any friction created in the front and middle of the lane sacrifices down lane motion.  That’s great when you need traction, but not so great when you’re looking for length and down lane motion.  The Raptor Pursuit, with the massive symmetrical Affliction V2 core and the incredibly clean Aerial Propulsion pearl coverstock, is a unique combination for when bowlers need a more stable core but still want to see incredible length and speed downlane. The Raptor Pursuit was built for those who set their sights higher!

AFFLICTION V2 SYMMETRICAL

The Affliction V2 core is the strongest symmetrical core used by MOTIV bowling. Its low RG helps the Raptor Pursuit rev quickly, giving the ball plenty of stability and control. The high differential of .055 means there is no shortage of flare potential. A lot of bowlers automatically reach for an asymmetrical ball when they want high-performance strength. But asymmetry isn’t always the answer.  A powerful symmetrical core gives you versatility, predictability, and continuation through the pins that is unparalleled.

Aerial Propulsion Pearl Reactive

Wrapped around the Affliction V2 core is the Aerial Propulsion Pearl Reactive coverstock.  The Propulsion coverstock system has become a proven staple of the MOTIV pearl lineup for generating length and response to friction.  The Aerial Propulsion Pearl shell is the second cleanest cover in the Propulsion line behind only the Dark Matter Propulsion shell found on the Nebula.  That cleanliness was intentional. We wanted a shell that would stay off the friction in the front, conserve energy, and unleash down lane.  The Raptor Pursuit offers a huge core, clean cover, and violent finish!  

When to Use

  • Speed Dominant

    For speed dominant bowlers, this is likely a ball for dryer lanes that can provide the hook and pop needed when balanced bowlers are using a ball like the Nebula.  More flare means more fresh shell on the lane for the speed dominant bowler.  Additionally, the low rg means that the core is going to rev up far easier than other balls with covers this clean. 

  • Balanced

    The Raptor Pursuit will be an early angular ball for balanced bowlers to use when the smoother covers and earlier reading balls force them in, but don’t provide enough pop down lane to carry the corners. 

  • Rev Dominant

    For the bowlers with the most revs or the least speed, the Raptor Pursuit is going to be the angular ball they transition to after the fresh, when there is still plenty of oil on the lanes compared to friction.  The Raptor Pursuit will be a great step up from a Nebula when the friction hasn't quite developed as much and you need more strength in the oil without sacrificing down lane reaction.

    NEW FAVORITE PEARL!!!

    It's a pearl with TEETH!!!! Super clean through the front of the lane and pretty aggressive once it does see friction. The Raptor Pursuit is also very versatile, whether you're playing up the gutter or in deep the Raptor Pursuit can handle it all!!!!!

    Another Home Run

    I could hit you with all the cliche about how clean it is, how hard off the spot, how continuous and on and on and on, I won't. I'll instead keep this really simple, The Raptor Pursuit is what I wanted the Raptor Rush to be. My Sky Raptor can finally be retired and take it's rightful place on the Honor Score Mantle. I can see a ton of strikes and honor scores coming from this one.

    Another Great Piece

    The Raptor Pursuit is a clean, strong symmetrical pearl that is still strong through the pin deck. This ball retains energy & releases it on the pins with bad intentions!

    I'm a higher rev right-handed bowler, with above average ball speed & I'm able to throw my Raptor Pursuit on the fresh oil game 1 through game 3 when the lanes are a bit dryer. I just migrate left throughout the set & the ball still hits the pins & continues through them where some others roll out. This core & cover combination is married very well! I have mine at the out of box surface drilled 48x5x34.

    Best Raptor Ever?

    The Raptor Pursuit experiments with a different coverstock formulation which creates a surprising amount of midlane traction in fresh oil conditions.

    The 3-color scheme and shiny cover make this one of the most visually appealing balls on the market. On the lanes, the Raptor Pursuit has a great combination of traction & downlane hook.

    I use the Raptor Pursuit as a great 1-2 punch along with the Jackal Ghost V2 as my first options out of the bag for fresh oil. With the shiny cover and energy retention, I’m able to use the versatile Raptor Pursuit from many different angles and as the lane pattern transitions.
