The new solid purple Venom Shock produces a violent reaction on light to medium oil conditions.  It attacks the lane with the proven Gear™ weight block and new cover technology – Turmoil™ MFS (Medium Friction Solid) Reactive, which is a modified version of the more aggressive shell featured on the Covert Revolt.  This core and cover combination provides a smooth yet angular backend motion that strikes with devastating continuation.   

As far as shelf appeal, the Venom Shock does not disappoint.  The vibrant orange logo really pops off the purple shell.  And, for those that are into glow-in-the-dark bowling, the logos on the ball glow orange and green. 

The Venom Shock really does have it all – performance, looks, and a great price point.  The most shocking thing about this ball may be that you get such outstanding performance at such an affordable price! 

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant - Bowlers with higher speeds or moderate speed paired with lower rev rates, the Venom Shock is a great option for control in higher friction environments. Late in league nights or on low volume patterns, the Venom Shock shines for speed dominant bowlers.   
  • Balanced - For the balanced bowler the Venom Shock is an absolute must have in the middle of their arsenal.  Balanced bowlers will find that the versatility of the shock allows it to be used in many different volumes and lengths of oil from dry lanes to moderately high volumes of oil.  An added bonus for bowlers who love the Venom Shock is how well it responds to surface changes.  
  • Rev Dominant - Those with revs to spare can use the Venom Shock in many volumes of oil and see outstanding down lane continuation for a ball that is conventionally thought of as a control ball.  A shiny Venom Shock is a staple in the bag of many PBA Touring players who want to create some angle without sacrificing control in later transition.

    This ball does it all! I’m 10 months into bowling and wish this was the first ball I ever invested in. For all you new bowlers curious about a “benchmark ball” or your first ever, I promise this ball will exceed your expectations and will forever have a slot in your arsenal. First ball out the bag, medium, light, dry oil.. the Venom Shock does it all. Low rev, high rev, speed dominant.. this ball gets the job done with confidence!

    A must have

    I picked up this ball about a year and a half ago and let me tell you this ball lives up to the name. This ball goes to every tournament. It i shot a handful of 299 in league before getting 300.

    The ultimate ball

    By far the best ball Motiv ever produced. Till this day this ball will do exactly what you want it to do. I have had the same one for over 5 years and just brought it back to box. The ball reacted like it did when I first bought it!

    This ball is amazing. It's very flexible and versatile. After switching to the Venom Shock, I picked up at least 20 points on my average. Can't wait to try some additional Motiv balls!

    The Goat

    Decided to give Motiv a try this year and started with the Venom Shock after hearing a lot of people call it the goat. Looking for a true benchmark ball, the Shock gave me the best controlled motion I've ever seen and has drawn comments of how good it looks even from my competitors. Rev dominate bowler, this ball gets downlane and has plenty of backend while still controlling the pocket. Rolled my career best 3 game set (790) in January 2026 with this ball.
