Gear Symmetrical

At the heart of the Hyper Venom lies the Gear core, a reliable juggernaut.  The Gear core is a proven force in the world of bowling.  Featuring a low RG / low Differential, this fast spinning, low flaring core promises stability in the mid-lane without the risk of burning up due to excessive flare.

Turmoil™ MFS Solid

Well over 10 years later and Turmoil™ MFS (Medium Friction Solid) Reactive is still the ultimate benchmark cover.  Clean through the fronts, a strong midlane read, and incredible drive through the pins.  It creates the perfect motion for a light-medium oil benchmark bowling ball.  Paired with the Gear core, and you will find a benchmark bowling ball that needs to be in every single arsenal.

When to Use

  • Speed Dominant

Bowlers with higher speeds or moderate speed paired with lower rev rates, the Venom Shock is a great option for control in higher friction environments. Late in league nights or on low volume patterns, the Venom Shock shines for speed dominant bowlers.

  • Balanced

For the balanced bowler the Venom Shock is an absolute must have in the middle of their arsenal.  Balanced bowlers will find that the versatility of the shock allows it to be used in many different volumes and lengths of oil from dry lanes to moderately high volumes of oil.  An added bonus for bowlers who love the Venom Shock is how well it responds to surface changes.

  • Rev Dominant

Those with revs to spare can use the Venom Shock in many volumes of oil and see outstanding down lane continuation for a ball that is conventionally thought of as a control ball.  A shiny Venom Shock is a staple in the bag of many PBA Touring players who want to create some angle without sacrificing control in later transition.

    Ball is Amazing

This is definitely a good benchmark ball for low rev players, it’s a nice even shape that really reads the mid lane and is really good when adjusting surface. Shine it up, you can play straighter and get that ball to clear. Hit it with some surface and the ball will read earlier but not too early to give you a nice reaction when bowling on something a little tighter in the mid lane.

For higher rev players, you could use this ball when the Rogue Blade or the Ripcord become too much and you need something a little less shape and a little less overall motion. You could throw this when the lanes start booking way too much and you need to migrate in but keep your angles tight to the pocket, ball won’t over read and it won’t under read. If you ever get wet dry you can use this ball play around with surface and ball speed because it’s not a ball that is all clean and all backend.

    My Shock

I have owned my Venom Shock for 2.5 years now. It has helped me win 2 tournaments. The predictability of the ball and repetitive motion is what makes the ball so valuable for me. When I'm on a medium pattern with lower volume, I use this ball to control the wet-dry. I've suggested it to many friends and 3 of them have bought it so far and all really like it. It will be a hard ball to get rid of.

About Me I feel my style is similar to Wes Mallot's. I am 6ft 5in tall bowler. Rev dominant (325 rpm), medium ball speed (15.5 mph off hand, 14.5 at break, and 13.5 at pins), Pap is 5 7/8's 1 inch up. I have one 300 back when it was harder to get them in AB

    GREAT BALL for every occasion!

Literally loved this ball so much I bought 2. 1 pin up, 1 Rico drilled. Great for multiple looks, various patterns, and smooth!

The only one you need for league

I returned to serious bowling last year and while looking for equipment a friend turned me on to Motiv. I hadn't heard much but in talking with him and doing my own research I decided to give them a try and bought a Venom Shock. That was the best decision I could have made.

I immediately noticed how easily it revved up seemingly on its own. I love the predictable smooth shape it gives and just has a overall great arc downlane. I can't believe how wide my strike pocket is with the Venom Shock, it really sets up nicely, and my coach agrees. If I roll up high flush - crush 10 back and I even get the 4 out on hits that look too high. On lighter hits I get a lot of side motion and carry all the swishers as well. This combination lets me stay ahead of transition so in addition to carrying nearly everything that's close I stay lined up better because I know I have the carry to move earlier than I normally would. Misses left push just enough and misses right react well to the dry.

Initially I thought I'd end up with a mixed bag as I developed my arsenal. My experience with the Venom Shock changed my mind. Nothing but Motiv is going in that bag.
