02/12/2022Product Jackal GhostBy John FreyFrom Troy, MOAbout Me League/Tournament BowlerOMG, So good!!!
I don't know why it took me so long to get the Jackal Ghost. This ball is amazing. The motion is is incredibly smooth with plenty of power at the break point. The pins don't stand a chance because it hits so hard. Even with my lower speed of 13.5mph and 380 revs this ball doesn't overreact. It reads the midlane really well and makes its move like the pocket is a magnet. I am thoroughly impressed.

02/06/2022Product Jackal GhostBy Colin WalkerFrom Hamburg NJAbout Me Youth bowler. Passionate. Part of #motivnationFull send on the Jackal GHOST!!????
It’s an oldie and a goodie. When you need a smooth shape that can get through heavy oil and still make the corner down lane you need the Jackal Ghost in your arsenal. The Ghost has stood the test of time and continues its never ending reign as the longest running asym ball in the entire world. The predator v2 core is outstanding and audacious with its early rolling and predictable shape down lane. They say legends never die and like a ghost, this ball just keeps making its mark on the pro tour and on local tournaments in my area. This ball will also last you a long time. I’ve bowled at-least 500 games with this jackal and once it started to lose its reaction I baked the oil out and shined it up to look like glass. Now it still serves a pivotal role in my bag as it bridges that gap between second and third game where you need an asym but still want a solid piece in your hand. TLDR this ball is a 10/10 for any bowler and I highly recommend.

02/03/2022Product Jackal GhostBy Robert PoeschlFrom Milwaukee, WIAbout Me Rev Dominate, 450+rpm, moderate axis rotation, low tilt, approx 16mph at the break point. The Motiv Halo Ball!
The Ghost may not be the biggest hooking, earliest rolling, strongest flipping, or prettiest revving thing down the lane. The ball is an amazing blend of skid/hook/roll and in my eye offers the best front to back read on fresh and oiler patterns. Lets face it the ball has been out for 5 years and you may want to pass on this for newer stuff.
Punched this up with my default strong asymmetrical layout 50x5x40, approx. 5x4x3 VLS. The motion that stands out the most for me as opposed to many other asymmetrical balls on the market is the midlane transition from oil to dry, it’s a rather long subtle arc before making a hard turn to the roll phase. Most top end equipment sacrifices downlane motion for traction or amp the cover so much you’ll need to lineup a zone left (right handed) to find enough oil to push it downlane. I found the ball to be so controllable in the midlane that when the time came to drill another I punched up a 70x5x35 just to get a bit more length and faster response to dry.
Comparisons… Many will attempt to compare the now discontinued Rogue Assassin which has the same marketed coverstock but whether cover or core the Rogue starts rolling sooner and has significantly less down lane. The Flare way earlier and rounder still. And finally the Legacy which also sees the ball transition the soonest and is far more forward rolling. As a Jackal it stands a lot on it’s own as the lineup prior never really fit my game (high rev).
Final thoughts… The ball oozes continuation which isn’t very typical of asymmetric cores letting you know this cover and combination is something special. Even though I try to find the best attributes with every ball there’s very few I pump and the Ghost deserves my highest recommendations. Don’t pass this one up.

01/28/2022Product Jackal GhostBy Phil MancusiFrom Boynton Beach, FloridaAbout Me 210+ average league bowler bowling one night a weekJackal Ghost…Full Stop!!
A buddy turned me on to Motiv a few years ago and I watched my league average go from the 180’s to just shy of 200. During that time, I tried the Alpha Jackal, Trident Abyss, Trident Nemesis, Jackal Legacy, Pride and Venom Shock. But then I found an older ball Motiv has been pumping out for five years now the Jackal Ghost…Full Stop!
I have a weak wrist so I don’t get a lot of revs so I need a strong ball to make up for it. I walked right from the pro shop to a lane and, right out of the box freshly drilled, cranked out a 245. Three weeks later I rolled my first honor score with an 814 series. This ball is incredible. It’s a 3000 grit matte finish ball that cuts through oil like a warm knife through butter so after a month or two of league bowling I use Motiv’s Power Gel Scuff. The Power Gel Scuff removes the oil off the surface of the ball and helps restore the ball to the 3000 grit out-of-the-box finish.
Love the Jackal Ghost and I love that Motiv makes a product that helps keep the ball aggressive wee in and week out.I would recommend this to a friend

01/21/2022Product Jackal GhostBy James Bair JrFrom Avonmore, PAAbout Me League and Tournament BowlerSimply the best!
Maybe the best ball I have ever thrown. I'm on my second one now. The old cliches of strong, predictable, and continuous thru the pocket all apply here. Responds to hand/wrist positions better than any ball I've thrown. No honor scores for me but the ball is money in oilier conditions.
