Introducing the Black Venom™, a bold upgrade to the already incredible Venom™ line. This uncompromising new addition features the latest Leverage™ cover technology from the Jackal Ambush, modified for maximum performance on moderate oil volume.  Pairing this new Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive cover with the Gear™ APG core creates earlier read and unstoppable traction when attacking light-medium oil lane conditions.

The cover stock on the Venom™ Shock has been the gold standard for benchmark performance since its release nine years ago.  As oil volumes have increased over time, the Venom™ Shock appears more angular, so it’s time to take things to the next level.  Upgrading to Leverage MFS technology means the Black Venom has more bite and a smoother motion on the lane, giving you the upper hand when maximum traction is what you need.

At the core of the Black Venom you’ll find the Gear™ APG.  Originally developed to overcome the loss of weight holes in sanctioned play, it’s a uniquely low RG / low differential asymmetric core that delivers performance beyond its price point.  With versatile drilling options, you can create many shapes on the lane with just this one Gear APG core. 

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - For bowlers who have always wanted a Venom™, but the previous releases have been too weak or condition specific, the Black Venom™ is ideal. The Black Venom™ is a modern adaptation of the original Venom™ Shock, meaning that it is now stronger and smoother. This should make the Black Venom™ the perfect Venom™ for people too speed dominant for its predecessors.
  • Balanced Bowlers - Bowlers with balanced speed to rev rate ratios will find incredible versatility from the Black Venom™. As in the Venom™ Shock, the real magic in the Black Venom™ is the ability to use it on a multitude of conditions and from shallow to steep angles.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - The Black Venom™ is the ideal benchmark ball for a rev dominant bowler. All bowlers need a ball to use as a lane reader that is right in the middle of their arsenal and can be used on most conditions. The moderate strength Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive paired with such a low differential (.036) in the Gear™ APG is perfect for Rev Dominant bowlers.

    Insane Control

    I was curious to see what the Black Venom would accomplish on the lanes. I really like the versatility of the APG Gear core and was excited to see it wrapped up in the same cover stock as the Jackal Ambush.

    So far, this ball has been my go-to control piece in the bag. It is smooth and consistent and goes through the pins so well. When I can't get a good read on the lanes, I grab the Black Venom, and know exactly what it is going to do for me.

    I would highly recommend this one, as it is an insanely good complement to many of the other balls Motiv has to offer.

    Great Ball

    I started bowling again about a month ago, after a 30 year break. I purchased another black ball when I started back. Didn’t quite do what I wanted it to do. I purchased this ball last week. WOW!! 3 games-178-196-234. Buy this ball!!!

    The Black Venom is probably one of the best balls I’ve bowled with in my 32 years of bowling. Hits like a rock and one hell of a cranker. But not forgiving.

    I pre-ordered this ball and received it 3 days after launch. First game out of the box was a 246 on my 160 average! This ball stores so much energy and is so angular on the back end that even if you miss right it hustles back to the pocket with a passion! It looks soo good rolling down the lane!

    Watched a few guys use this in the Nebraska State Tournament and thought there is no way that ball is that smooth. Got mine and saw just how smooth this is. This is a great combination of cover stock and core. We have drilled this for a few different styles in our shop, and it's smooth for everyone. Lots of bowlers wanting this to have fresh for next season. Get your hands on one if you can.
