05/29/2023Product Black VenomBy Lance DreilingFrom Centennial, COAbout Me Motiv StaffOutstanding Benchmark Ball
The Black Venom is an awesome addition to any bowlers bag! The smooth arching motion of this ball makes it a first out of the bag for me in league or on sport shots.
With the Gear core and Leverage cover stock this ball is outstanding allowing me to play either up the boards or move left when the lanes dry up and still have that great continuous motion down lane.I would recommend this to a friend

05/28/2023Product Black VenomBy GregFrom Albion NyBall as advertised and more
This ball is so smooth but yet very powerful in the pocket. It gives you a variety of angles to play given the lane conditions. You can count on this ball as "the go to ball" its the best ball on the market and the best in a very long time

05/26/2023Product Black VenomBy Shea DillyFrom Mesa, AZAbout Me 200+ Avg League Bowler, 2-3 Leagues A WeekMust Have Motiv Ball
The Black Venom is just different. It makes a different sound when it hits the pocket, shapes in a way that none of my other bowling balls do, and looks damn good doing it all! The all black with gold logos makes for a great ball to look at but the actual performance more than matches.
I love that I can use this ball in conjunction with the other Venoms seamlessly and it brings a whole new shape to the table. Lately I've found the Black Venom on the fresh until there's not enough oil left for that coverstock to dig into, and then moving into the Venom Shock/Blue Coral Venom has been an amazing combo, But the Black Venom alone provides a strong, smooth shape that isn't afraid of the oil, it digs and reads early but provides some of the BEST continuation I've seen from a ball.
I also think that this ball takes well to surface, allowing you to adjust it if the OOB finish doesn't quite fit your game. I've enjoyed it with a little more polished finish so don't be afraid to change the ball up. Cause once it matches your game you'll see (and hear) a lot of big strikes out there.I would recommend this to a friend

05/21/2023Product Black VenomBy Aaron JohnsonFrom New Laguna, New MexicoAMAZING BALL
I just got my Black Venom a few weeks ago. I punched it up just before a tournament I was going to bowl. The first night I used it on a challenge pattern 44ft. Let me tell you, I was surprised at how strong this ball is out of the box. Normally on this pattern I Avg 187, but that night my Avg was 215, shot a 645 series.
Now comes the weekend and tournament time. Team event I shot a 676 series. For doubles I shot 800, and singles I shot 740. This ball was amazing the entire weekend. It's so versatile that I could play straighter if I had to or hook the lane and still be in total control.
I have recommended this ball to just about everyone I know. A few guys have purchased the Black Venom and they have not been disappointed. One of my friends just shot his highest series ever with the Black Venom , a 718 series. I can say now that he is very MOTIVated.
Thank you MOTIV for producing the best equipment in the sport. Next I can't wait for the New EJ VIP! Gotta love that Sigma Core!I would recommend this to a friend

05/15/2023Product Black VenomBy Chad ReifferFrom Rockford, MIAbout Me Motiv StafferBenchmark ball for all styles
The Black Venom has proven to be a smooth & predictable benchmark ball for many styles. The Venom Shock has been the industry standard benchmark ball for several years. The Black Venom compliments this as a slightly stronger and earlier motion for bowlers looking for a bit more traction and strength out of the bag.
I have drilled two Black Venoms and prefer the one with the pin below my fingers (30 x 5" x 60) with box finish. This allows me the versatility with speed & revs to play different parts of the lane with predictable ball motion.
For my pin up Black Venom (60 x 5" x 40) I tested with a light coat of polish to lengthen & strengthen the reaction compared to the first. This reaction was close to what I see with my Venom Shock as being slightly cleaner with predictable strong motion downlane as well, but with plenty of control.
While this ball doesn't boast the strongest hook potential or breakpoint shape on the ball chart, it has proven to be a ball that all styles can match up with. The Black Venom is predictable, strong, and looks great rolling down the lane!I would recommend this to a friend
