Introducing the Black Venom™, a bold upgrade to the already incredible Venom™ line. This uncompromising new addition features the latest Leverage™ cover technology from the Jackal Ambush, modified for maximum performance on moderate oil volume.  Pairing this new Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive cover with the Gear™ APG core creates earlier read and unstoppable traction when attacking light-medium oil lane conditions.

The cover stock on the Venom™ Shock has been the gold standard for benchmark performance since its release nine years ago.  As oil volumes have increased over time, the Venom™ Shock appears more angular, so it’s time to take things to the next level.  Upgrading to Leverage MFS technology means the Black Venom has more bite and a smoother motion on the lane, giving you the upper hand when maximum traction is what you need.

At the core of the Black Venom you’ll find the Gear™ APG.  Originally developed to overcome the loss of weight holes in sanctioned play, it’s a uniquely low RG / low differential asymmetric core that delivers performance beyond its price point.  With versatile drilling options, you can create many shapes on the lane with just this one Gear APG core. 

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - For bowlers who have always wanted a Venom™, but the previous releases have been too weak or condition specific, the Black Venom™ is ideal. The Black Venom™ is a modern adaptation of the original Venom™ Shock, meaning that it is now stronger and smoother. This should make the Black Venom™ the perfect Venom™ for people too speed dominant for its predecessors.
  • Balanced Bowlers - Bowlers with balanced speed to rev rate ratios will find incredible versatility from the Black Venom™. As in the Venom™ Shock, the real magic in the Black Venom™ is the ability to use it on a multitude of conditions and from shallow to steep angles.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - The Black Venom™ is the ideal benchmark ball for a rev dominant bowler. All bowlers need a ball to use as a lane reader that is right in the middle of their arsenal and can be used on most conditions. The moderate strength Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive paired with such a low differential (.036) in the Gear™ APG is perfect for Rev Dominant bowlers.

    About Me I am avid league bowler. I bowl on 2 leagues a week. I switched to Motiv after the Buyout of EBI by brunswick when they shut down the US plant. So I switched to an American Made product and I have loved them ever since.

    Wow what a monster

    This ball impressed me so much. I was planning to purchase a different ball at the Motiv test drive until I threw this ball. This is my first ball out of the bag on league night I drill mine pretty neutral and similar to the test drive layout. Wow love this ball so much. It is way stronger than anything else in my bag currently.

    Little Behind on Getting this One Drilled, But WOW!!!! Went with a taller pin layout on it and it's just so smooth and predictable. In my first game with it I shot 3 10pins and a 4-9 for a 225 and then finished that series striking on 23 of the next 24 shots for a 300 game and an 815 series.

    The Ball Smooth thru the fronts and had plenty for the backend in terms of finish and power thru the pins. Get it NOW at your Local Pro Shop, You Won't Be Sorry!!

    Black Venom - Digs in and gives you control!

    The Black Venom is going to be a must for your bag.  This ball features the asymmetric Gear APG core which was designed when the "No Weight Hole" rule was put into place to give bowlers more drilling options with balls in the medium/light oil line. But what make this ball is the Leverage MFS Solid cover; which is a modifications of the Jackal Ambush's cover, to help you handle lighter oil condition but still get that smooth reaction where so many balls in this category hockey stick when finding friction. This ball is a must for league and tournament play!

    Early and smooth and retains energy through the pins!

    All the balls in the Venom line seem to fit my game perfectly. Naturally, any new addition to the Venom line will at least get a good look from me. I knew as soon as I saw some initial reviews on this ball that it was going to be a fantastic addition to my bag and I am very happy with it so far. The stronger cover provides a much earlier read and rounder shape than my OG Venom Shock making it ideal for a few centers in my area that seem to play a little slicker. Despite reading the lanes much earlier than the other Venoms, this ball maintained a lot of energy through the pins and gave me a great looking benchmarky type motion. I think this ball is going to be quite popular for Motiv Nation!

    Phenomenal

    I own the Venom Shock, Blue Coral and now the Black Venom and all I can say is wow! This particular piece is what we have been missing. With the layout I have on this is a great ball down from my Odyssey when needed to switch. Thank you Motiv for my top two favorite balls which are the Trident Odyssey and Black Venom.
