Introducing the Black Venom™, a bold upgrade to the already incredible Venom™ line. This uncompromising new addition features the latest Leverage™ cover technology from the Jackal Ambush, modified for maximum performance on moderate oil volume.  Pairing this new Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive cover with the Gear™ APG core creates earlier read and unstoppable traction when attacking light-medium oil lane conditions.

The cover stock on the Venom™ Shock has been the gold standard for benchmark performance since its release nine years ago.  As oil volumes have increased over time, the Venom™ Shock appears more angular, so it’s time to take things to the next level.  Upgrading to Leverage MFS technology means the Black Venom has more bite and a smoother motion on the lane, giving you the upper hand when maximum traction is what you need.

At the core of the Black Venom you’ll find the Gear™ APG.  Originally developed to overcome the loss of weight holes in sanctioned play, it’s a uniquely low RG / low differential asymmetric core that delivers performance beyond its price point.  With versatile drilling options, you can create many shapes on the lane with just this one Gear APG core. 

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - For bowlers who have always wanted a Venom™, but the previous releases have been too weak or condition specific, the Black Venom™ is ideal. The Black Venom™ is a modern adaptation of the original Venom™ Shock, meaning that it is now stronger and smoother. This should make the Black Venom™ the perfect Venom™ for people too speed dominant for its predecessors.
  • Balanced Bowlers - Bowlers with balanced speed to rev rate ratios will find incredible versatility from the Black Venom™. As in the Venom™ Shock, the real magic in the Black Venom™ is the ability to use it on a multitude of conditions and from shallow to steep angles.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - The Black Venom™ is the ideal benchmark ball for a rev dominant bowler. All bowlers need a ball to use as a lane reader that is right in the middle of their arsenal and can be used on most conditions. The moderate strength Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive paired with such a low differential (.036) in the Gear™ APG is perfect for Rev Dominant bowlers.

    Absolute predictability.

    The Venom Recoil and Blue Coral Venom have been absolute staples in the MOTIV line for predictable shapes, one just being earlier and round, and the other being cleaner and boomier down lane. Since the Recoil has been discontinued, we have absolutely been missing that earlier and round alternative shape to the Venom Shock. Well the Black Venom absolutely fills that spot, and more. The Black Venom takes what the Recoil did great, and takes it to the next level. The new Leverage series of cover stock allows the Black Venom to dig just as hard as the Recoil but shape more overall increasing the balls versatility. Having a ball in the line that not only is predictable but also has tons of hook potential is fantastic and opens the door for any and every type of player to capitalize on this amazing piece. Go get one today!

    Love this ball!

    The Black Venom is awesome! It’s very smooth and controllable! I love my Ambush, but it’s a tad bit too strong in league sometimes, the Black Venom fills that gap perfectly for me!! Excited to give it a go in tournaments!

    Lastly, the ball is absolutely awesome in terms of looks. I have been wanting a more traditional black bowling ball and Motiv did not disappoint!

    Great ball

    Even though I'm not a big fan of reactive resin, this ball doesn't roll like a regular reactive resin, IT ROLLS LIKE A TON OF THUNDER.

    Lord have mercy another amazing peace from Nick and the Motiv staff. Amazing ball. It’s great on the fresh and the break down all kind of different patterns. I highly recommend this one to everyone that loves Motiv. Can’t wait to see what’s next :)

    Black Venom a ball you definitely want it in you arsenal!

    I've been bowling Motiv since the TX1. I still have the GT1 (and one in the basement) in my bag. The GT1 makes me look better than I am. I was able to snag a Black Venom early (by one day). I used it in scratch league tonight and I am very impressed! This is one of the Motiv balls that makes you look good. It is very clean off the dry and drives through the pins with the same power I see with the GT1. Now I know the cores and cover are different (sym vs asym) but the look is very similar. I used it for all 3 games and it powered right through the transition like there wasn't one. I'm sure this ball will not be leaving my arsenal anytime soon. Heck I may finally be able to retire the GT1.
