The new solid purple Venom Shock produces a violent reaction on light to medium oil conditions.  It attacks the lane with the proven Gear™ weight block and new cover technology – Turmoil™ MFS (Medium Friction Solid) Reactive, which is a modified version of the more aggressive shell featured on the Covert Revolt.  This core and cover combination provides a smooth yet angular backend motion that strikes with devastating continuation.   

As far as shelf appeal, the Venom Shock does not disappoint.  The vibrant orange logo really pops off the purple shell.  And, for those that are into glow-in-the-dark bowling, the logos on the ball glow orange and green. 

The Venom Shock really does have it all – performance, looks, and a great price point.  The most shocking thing about this ball may be that you get such outstanding performance at such an affordable price! 

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant - Bowlers with higher speeds or moderate speed paired with lower rev rates, the Venom Shock is a great option for control in higher friction environments. Late in league nights or on low volume patterns, the Venom Shock shines for speed dominant bowlers.   
  • Balanced - For the balanced bowler the Venom Shock is an absolute must have in the middle of their arsenal.  Balanced bowlers will find that the versatility of the shock allows it to be used in many different volumes and lengths of oil from dry lanes to moderately high volumes of oil.  An added bonus for bowlers who love the Venom Shock is how well it responds to surface changes.  
  • Rev Dominant - Those with revs to spare can use the Venom Shock in many volumes of oil and see outstanding down lane continuation for a ball that is conventionally thought of as a control ball.  A shiny Venom Shock is a staple in the bag of many PBA Touring players who want to create some angle without sacrificing control in later transition.

    good first ball

    This is the first ball I've ever bought. I've been bowling regularly for about 6 months, and my average runs about 130.

    This ball is great for learning how to generate hook. I can throw straight up around15 or I can move left to about 30 and throw right. Either way, (assuming I manage to make a decent shot), it rolls right into the pocket and explodes the rack.

    Why did I wait?

    Why did I wait to get this ball?! Everyone says this is THE Motiv ball to get. I started with a few others, and finally scooped one of these up.
    My first impression, Versatile. Second, Predictable. You can lay this ball out on the lane and it just goes to work. Inside, outside, straight up and in. Every ball has its limits, but this ball doesn't quit.
    It pairs up nicely with my Coral Venom in some conditions and in others I find it is great to lead with, and roll over to my Supra or Fatal Venom.

    This is one ball that I will be picking up a "spare" of for when the VERY sad day comes that it is retired. And I'm not one to buy duplicate equipment.

    Shock is right!

    I just got back into bowling after a 22 year hiatus. After researching, decided to get a Venom Shock as my first ball back in the game. All I can say is WOW, in just a few week’s time, I’ve already bowled a 256 and my avg four weeks into the season is a 182! I may be a Motiv fan for life!!

    First ball out

    The Shock is the first out of my bag everywhere I go. What a benchmark piece this is for me. Very very consistent read and roll. After about 3 shots it lets me know where to play or what ball is next. I only throw about 15 mph but can literally play any part of the lane on the fresh with this ball. Smooth read then gets angular. Love this ball. Man it looks great going down the lane too. I ball down to the Fatal when the Shock gets too strong and usually barely have to move.
