Gear Symmetrical

At the heart of the Hyper Venom lies the Gear core, a reliable juggernaut.  The Gear core is a proven force in the world of bowling.  Featuring a low RG / low Differential, this fast spinning, low flaring core promises stability in the mid-lane without the risk of burning up due to excessive flare.

Turmoil™ MFS Solid

Well over 10 years later and Turmoil™ MFS (Medium Friction Solid) Reactive is still the ultimate benchmark cover.  Clean through the fronts, a strong midlane read, and incredible drive through the pins.  It creates the perfect motion for a light-medium oil benchmark bowling ball.  Paired with the Gear core, and you will find a benchmark bowling ball that needs to be in every single arsenal.

When to Use

  • Speed Dominant

Bowlers with higher speeds or moderate speed paired with lower rev rates, the Venom Shock is a great option for control in higher friction environments. Late in league nights or on low volume patterns, the Venom Shock shines for speed dominant bowlers.

  • Balanced

For the balanced bowler the Venom Shock is an absolute must have in the middle of their arsenal.  Balanced bowlers will find that the versatility of the shock allows it to be used in many different volumes and lengths of oil from dry lanes to moderately high volumes of oil.  An added bonus for bowlers who love the Venom Shock is how well it responds to surface changes.

  • Rev Dominant

Those with revs to spare can use the Venom Shock in many volumes of oil and see outstanding down lane continuation for a ball that is conventionally thought of as a control ball.  A shiny Venom Shock is a staple in the bag of many PBA Touring players who want to create some angle without sacrificing control in later transition.

Control and continuation in a benchmark ball

The Venom Shock is everything you would want in a dependable benchmark ball. No surprises. Easy length, Reads the friction but doesn't over react. Handles speed and tilt changes well. Even when the ball isn't the most perfect option for the pattern, it always tells me what direction in equipment I need to go. Was able to shoot 300 this past weekend with the Venom Shock in our local association tournament in an old wood house that requires a little more finesse than power. Everyone can use this ball in their bag.

    Shot 300!!! Excellent Benchmark ball.

For me this ball plays a couple angles well. I can normally play up the boards say 12 to 8 when the back ends are softer. It will carry the 10 with no problem. Has a sharp snappy and continuous motion at end of pattern. It rolls best for me on Medium long or flatter patterns. The second line for this ball for me is around 17-20 out to about 10-8 at the break point. Ball has a smooth predictable motion through the entire lane. If the back ends are clean or strong, this ball for me can be too much and will jump.
    Layout is 45 x 4-1/4 x 30. Surface 360/3000

Best ball ever produced by Motiv

I drilled mine 70x5x70 and this is far and away my favorite ball on the right lane conditions. I would personally classify this as more of a medium oil ball than med-dry with this layout. I have a higher ball speed and this thing still covers boards. Beautiful motion and a very, very strong backend. LOVE THIS BALL!!

    Great Benchmark Ball

This is the first ball out of my bag when I bowl on unfamiliar lanes. It is very smooth and predictable—thus making it the best ball to get an initial read on the lanes. This ball should be in everyone’s bag.

    OMG!!!!!!! THE VENOM SHOCK

I cannot believe I have only been bowling a year and a half. And I have had my venom shock for about a year now just knocked the surface down to 2000 grit and wouldn't you know it I get out there tonight right after league has burned up the lanes and throw my very first 300!!!!!!!!!! I love this ball thanks motiv.
