Gear Symmetrical

At the heart of the Hyper Venom lies the Gear core, a reliable juggernaut.  The Gear core is a proven force in the world of bowling.  Featuring a low RG / low Differential, this fast spinning, low flaring core promises stability in the mid-lane without the risk of burning up due to excessive flare.

Turmoil™ MFS Solid

Well over 10 years later and Turmoil™ MFS (Medium Friction Solid) Reactive is still the ultimate benchmark cover.  Clean through the fronts, a strong midlane read, and incredible drive through the pins.  It creates the perfect motion for a light-medium oil benchmark bowling ball.  Paired with the Gear core, and you will find a benchmark bowling ball that needs to be in every single arsenal.

When to Use

  • Speed Dominant

Bowlers with higher speeds or moderate speed paired with lower rev rates, the Venom Shock is a great option for control in higher friction environments. Late in league nights or on low volume patterns, the Venom Shock shines for speed dominant bowlers.

  • Balanced

For the balanced bowler the Venom Shock is an absolute must have in the middle of their arsenal.  Balanced bowlers will find that the versatility of the shock allows it to be used in many different volumes and lengths of oil from dry lanes to moderately high volumes of oil.  An added bonus for bowlers who love the Venom Shock is how well it responds to surface changes.

  • Rev Dominant

Those with revs to spare can use the Venom Shock in many volumes of oil and see outstanding down lane continuation for a ball that is conventionally thought of as a control ball.  A shiny Venom Shock is a staple in the bag of many PBA Touring players who want to create some angle without sacrificing control in later transition.

    Love this bowling ball

I got the Venom Shock last year when it first came out. It took a little while to get used to it, but now I love it. It now seems like everyone has one since I first got mine last October, 2020. Also the color is awesome too!!! Goes with my bowling shoes.

    Love this ball!

Added the Venom Shock as the second Motiv ball to my bag. It’s has been a game changer. I’m a 2 handed bowler and I’m still very new to the game, so my scores are all over the place. But this ball is CONSISTENT. If I throw it correctly, it hits the pocket every time. If I make a mistake; I still end up with a Brooklyn or 7 or 10 pin to snag my spare. I picked this up from the guys at Mike Marks in Spectrum and they’ve got it dialed in for me. I did resurface down to 1000 wet sand just to smooth it out a bit. Overall, this is a fantastic ball for a beginner who wants equipment that can grow or a seasoned pro who needs that smooth motion on a light oil pattern.

    Finally Got a Venom Shock

I waited far too long before buying a Venom Shock. It has been on my list for years and I finally treated myself to one. I used it for the first time in our senior league and opened with a 249. I was very happy with the versatility of the ball being able to play it up off the corner, down the 10 board, and swinging it late in the set. It's the perfect ball for my center where I almost always face medium to very dry conditions. Instead of lugging four balls around I can get by with just two. This saves a lot of wear and tear on an old man. Love it so far!!

A must have in the bag

This ball is a bit more aggressive than the ball guide might have you believe but it’s a MUST HAVE for a Motiv Arsenal. It’s inherently smooth and very controllable. For many high rev rate players it could easily be the benchmark ball

What the h** was I waiting for!!!

I bought two other used balls before I bought the Venom Shock. The pro shop operator tried to steer me to this ball first but I was too stubborn to get it until now. This ball is exactly what I was looking for and hadn't found it until now. Even on a not so great shot off my hand it gets to the pocket. There is a lot of forgiveness with this ball. I'm still fine tuning my mechanics but this is definitely going to be the first ball out of my bag. The moral of the story is, listen to your pro shop operator.
